Summer is officially here and so is the DCU Kindness Rocks Garden! In celebration of Worcester’s 300th Anniversary, team members from DCU – Digital Federal Credit Union and the ASM Global managed DCU Center recently assembled the DCU Kindness Rocks Garden at the main arena entrance on Foster Street in downtown Worcester.

DCU partnered with Massachusetts-based, The Kindness Rocks Project to unite people and encourage them to showcase creativity by painting inspirational messages on rocks to share with others.

“There’s no better way to celebrate the 300th birthday of Worcester than by spreading kindness and smiles – which is synonymous with the city,” said Ed Niser, DCU’s Corporate Communications & Relationship Manager. “We’re grateful for the DCU Center’s generosity in partnering with us to provide an area in the heart of downtown Worcester to showcase the kind words of our employees and members of the Greater Worcester community.”

Over the last several months, DCU has hosted hands-on workshops for children at area community organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester and Girls Inc. of Worcester. These painted rocks will be on display through Labor Day at the DCU Center’s main arena entrance on Foster Street.

In addition to positive quotes and charming art, the painted rocks show solidarity, support, and recognition of Juneteenth and Pride Month. The rock garden is open for the public to enjoy and community members are encouraged to take a rock that speaks to them or leave a rock to share with others.

With members located across the United States, DCU created a webpage to help encourage others to participate in spreading kindness on their own, no matter where they call home.
