As part of Art Week MA, the DCU Center will host Paint the Ice on April 29th at 5:00pm. Attendees of Paint The Ice will have the opportunity to venture onto the Worcester Railers HC ice and express their creativity. Participants will be provided with paint brushes as well as cups of ice paint and encouraged to recreate iconic symbols that speak to the History of Worcester.
For a 10-day period, Art Week MA partners with a combination of venues and artists throughout the state and has recently been expanding programming offered in the Central Massachusetts. As a leader in promoting arts and culture in New England, the DCU Center was thrilled to support the initiative through development of a fun and collaborative event for all to enjoy.
In the nearly 37-year history of DCU Center, there has yet to be an event of this kind offered within the venue. Many have attended a hockey game, a football game, a concert, or a family show; but Paint The Ice seeks to provide a truly unique vehicle for patrons to display their creativity. The Worcester Historical Museum has provided a guide that highlights some of the prominent symbols to help kick-start your inspiration which will be displayed during the event as well as on our social channels leading up to the event. Proceeds from the tickets will benefit American Young Voice’s, a music education program that allows children to participate in the largest school concert choir in the world. Several Worcester Public Schools will participate in this year’s event which will take place on June 5th.
