POSITION:               Banquet Back Aisle Attendant

DEPARTMENT:       Food and Beverage

FLSA STATUS:         Non-exempt



This part time position is responsible for the organization and cleanliness of banquet storage areas, preparation for upcoming events, and assisting with breakdown of dirty equipment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be at work and in proper uniform according to scheduled time
  • Follow instructions given by banquet and kitchen supervisors/managers
  • Assist in collecting necessary equipment in preparation for the set up on upcoming events
  • Aid servers, when scheduled, to prepare tables with place settings as instructed
  • Assist with cleaning and filling salt & pepper shakers, sugar caddies, creamers, etc..
  • Stocking necessary banquet coolers and dry storage items prior to events
  • During meal functions oversee the breakdown of dirty china/silver/glassware once removed from function rooms to the proper dishwashing area
  • Aid dishwashers, when scheduled, to return washed banquet equipment to its proper storage area
  • Assist with the removal of trash accumulated from banquet functions
  • Ensure all soiled banquet linen is bagged and placed in linen bins
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of banquet hallways and storage areas
  • Polish chaffing dishes and other silver equipment
  • Remain at assigned work areas and perform duties as assigned according to each event
  • Set up and break down of portable water coolers
  • Responsible for proper storage of banquet deliveries
  • Collecting inventory counts
  • Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities



Adhere to grooming standards and company policies

Knowledge of catering services terminology preferred

Ability to work well with others, as well as work alone

Ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner

Ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work

Must speak and understand English to converse with co-workers and supervisors, as well as to understand tasks issued.

Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours, based on events booked

Must be at least 18 years old


Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of work experience in service-oriented environment.


Physical Demands

This position requires constant walking and lifting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility, to stand for long hours during events, talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events. This position requires stooping and lifting. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. This position requires exposure to hot temperatures required to properly clean and sanitize equipment.
