The Worcester Common Oval Ice Rink is a Central Massachusetts, winter destination.
For three months, the Worcester Common Oval will be a wintry hub for ice skaters, tournament players, and jovial spectators, just happy to be outside, taking in the Oval’s winter transformation. The rink, now managed by ASM Global (the DCU Center's management team), is a seasonal installment. Throughout the year, the Worcester Common Oval acts as a communal space in the Worcester Common—a place to meet, to enjoy seasonal festivals, to relax in an urban oasis, and now, to skate on 12,000 sq. ft. of ice.
Piped in music, concessions, and holiday lights, amplify an already memorable moment. It's quintessential winter in the city.
And while you’d expect the Oval’s ice rink to be strictly used to ice skate with leisure in a historic city park, you would be surprised. There's definitely more to it. Not only was it the centerpiece for this past Festival of Lights, it will be the site for Worcester Winter Classic Pond Hockey Tournaments (sponsored by the Worcester Railers), meet and greets, and more.
The Worcester Common Oval ice rink truly is a destination in its own right and an absolute Worcester gem. And coincidentally, it sparkles like one.
