Welcome to the new digital space for fans and clients to learn about and engage with the DCU Center. Whether you’re planning or attending an event, we hope you find the new website and this blog to be a great resource.

The Backstage Blog

Some of the features include filters to help you find your favorite entertainment and events, as well as a responsive, mobile-friendly design. All of the information you need to attend or plan an event is right here for you, including where to buy tickets and who to contact if you have questions.

Last but not least, we hope you enjoy the Backstage Blog. We will share behind-the-scenes shots, new event announcements, and backstage musings. You will hear the voices of a variety of guest contributors from inside the industry and be updated with the latest news about events. You might want to start getting to know us by checking out the DCU Center Time Capsule - we opened as the Centrum in 1982 with the legendary Frank Sinatra Inaugural Concert.

In October 2004, DCU (Digital Federal Credit Union) and the City of Worcester entered into a naming rights partnership to rename the arena and convention center to the DCU Center. Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU) is a full-service, not-for-profit financial institution cooperatively owned by and operated for its members.

In 2013, the building underwent a $23 Million Renovation and Expansion Project, transforming into the space it is now -- a home to sold-out concerts, annual expos and trade shows, private events and meetings, and live family entertainment. But the improvements didn’t stop there - our latest announcements include the opening of two new locations for shopping and dining in downtown!

Figs & Pigs Kitchen + Pantry opened in December at the corner of Commercial and Foster Street, serving gourmet sandwiches and other American-style food made from scratch with fresh ingredients. (Try their Winter BLT for a seasonal twist on a classic meal!) Figs & Pigs is open from 10am-7pm Monday through Saturday and can also be found on the concourse during events in the Arena.

Just down the road, find retail shop Worcester Wares at Door 22. Jessica Walsh, owner and operator, opened the first Worcester-themed shop on August 15, 2015. The shop has everything from custom t-shirts to cuff links – find the creations of local artists in this funky space on Commercial Street.

We hope that you enjoy all that downtown Worcester and the building have to offer, as well as our backstage take on the latest news.
