POW! WOW! Worcester Has Arrived for Its 4th Installment

POW! WOW! Worcester, founded by Jasper Wong in 2011, is back with its fourth installment of the international arts festival, running August 16-23rd. It’s thanks to POW! WOW! Worcester, that the Heart of the Commonwealth is home to the largest collection of murals in New England, with a total of 115 pieces of public art, of which 89 are murals and 26 are a mix of seasonal and permanent installations.

This time around, local and visiting artists like Evaristo Angurria, Xylene, Lillipore and M. Tony Peralta will be traveling to Worcester’s Great Brook Valley and nearby Worcester schools; like Burncoat Middle School and Clark Street School, to leave their marks and inspire a conversation around community development, diversity and arts education.

There will be an Area 51 Opening Party at Electric Haze on August 17th, multiple pop up workshops (Screenprinting, Digital Art, Cartooning), secret and live digital art displays, and a block party at Great Brook Valley to close out Pow! Wow! Worcester's visit in a big way.

With all things said and done, there will be nearly a week of community collaboration and art to look forward to.
